We are seeking a full-time, experienced, and motivated individual to join our team as an Accountant. This is an exciting opportunity to join an established organization that values the contribution of its staff and offers excellent career progression opportunities.
The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the company's financial data and compliance by maintaining accurate books on accounts payable and receivable, payroll, and daily financial entries and reconciliations. They will have the opportunity to influence and shape our financial strategies and contribute to our overall business growth and success.
Responsibilities:
1. Perform monthly, quarterly and annual accounting activities including reconciliations of bank and credit card accounts, coordination and completion of annual audits, and reviewing financial reports/support as necessary.
2. Analyze and report on financial status including income statement variances, communicating financial results to management, budget preparation, and analysis.
3. Improve systems and procedures and initiate corrective actions.
4. Oversee taxes and abide by federal regulations.
5. Implement strategic financial planning and forecasting models to support business growth and decision-making.
6. Prepare and present financial reports and risk analysis.
7. Ensure compliance with accounting and financial regulations and standards.
8. Collaborate with financial and non-financial stakeholders, presenting financial information and strategies in an easy-to-understand manner.
Qualifications:
1. Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or relevant field. A Master's degree or Certified Public Accountant (CPA) certification would be considered an advantage.
2. Proven experience as a financial controller, accounting supervisor, or senior accountant with a minimum of 5 years general ledger experience.
3. Strong understanding of financial and accounting principles, laws and best practices.
4. Solid knowledge of financial analysis and forecasting.
5. Proficient in the use of MS Office and financial management software.
6. An analytical mind with a strategic ability.
7. Excellent organizational and leadership skills.
8. Outstanding communication skills.
9. (ISC)2 certification or equivalent is preferred.
10. Proven experience in financial project management.
11. Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
