The ideal candidate will be highly proficient in QuickBooks Online and possess a full understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)particularly in a nonprofit environment. This role ensures financial integrity, compliance, and timely reporting as the organization grows.Key ResponsibilitiesMaintain accurate financial records in QuickBooks Online (QBO)Record and reconcile all income, expenses, and bank/credit card accountsManage accounts payable, accounts receivable, and expense trackingSupport monthly close, journal entries, and class-based reportingAccurately manage deferred revenue and other nonprofit-specific accounting requirementsAssist with budget tracking, audit preparation, and financial report generationAssist with ensuring all financial practices align with GAAP and nonprofit compliance standardsQualifications5+ years of bookkeeping or accounting experience, preferably in a nonprofit settingExpert-level proficiency in QuickBooks Online (QBO)Thorough understanding of GAAP, including nonprofit revenue recognition and reportingStrong attention to detail and accuracyAbility to work independently in a remote environmentExperience with deferred revenue, grant tracking, or donor-related transactions is a plusU.S. Citizenship requiredWhy Join SFA?Flexible remote scheduleContribute to a national mission with real-world impactJoin a values-driven team supporting spacepower and national security
