Job Description
*Essential Duties and Responsibilities:*
Under the supervision of the Transportation Motor Pool Supervisor, the Bus Driver shall operate a bus to transport passengers over specified routes to local or distant points according to time schedule. The Bus Driver regulates heating, lighting, and ventilation systems for passenger comfort. The Bus Driver shall comply with local traffic regulations, reports delays or accidents, complete trip tickets, inspect buses, check fluids and perform other preventive maintenance checks before, during and after departure. Transports passengers between pickup points and destinations. Additional duties may be assigned as needed to meet company and departmental goals and objectives.
*Work Schedule:*
Requires Saturday – Sunday work hours in addition to being flexible in availability to work various shifts, non-standard work hours/schedules weekends, holidays, and fill in as required Monday – Friday.
*Qualifications and Requirements:*
* High school graduate or equivalent and at least 21 years of age.
* Must possess a valid Arizona commercial driver's license (CDL) Class A or B with Passenger and/or School Bus endorsement. Must have a minimum of one year of experience driving passengers.
* HAZMAT and Tanker endorsements are preferred but not required.
* Must provide a copy of Motor Vehicle Record.
* Ability to perform physically demanding work to include sitting, standing, lifting, bending, kneeling, pulling, walking and driving throughout the duration of the scheduled shift in a variety of weather conditions.
* Must be able to routinely operate and drive any of the vehicles in the Transportation Motor Pool, GSA fleet. These range from 10-ton stake bed dual axle trucks to sedans and pickups.
* Must pass a driver’s physical examination in accordance with company, Government, and Department of Transportation regulations.
* Requires excellent communication skills, verbal and written, to deal with internal and external customers at all levels.
* Excellent customer service skills and a neat appearance are required.
* Personal mobile device required.
* Applicants selected will be subject to and must pass a government security investigation for a National Agency Check with inquires and pre-employment drug screening, (Note, applicants will not meet minimum security requirements if during the previous 36-months any of the following occurred: convicted of a felony, the sale, handling, or use of illegal drugs, and alcohol related offense, received two or more moving/traffic violations, or one serious violation; involved in two or more documented accidents; driver's license was/is suspended or revoked; automobile insurance was/is cancelled, declined, or not renewed by an insurance company).
