Position Summary: Verdant is seeking candidates for Operations at our Liberty, Texas, Chemical facility. The Operator will set up and operate production equipment in accordance with established procedures and guidelines. This position will control and adjust equipment settings per operating procedures to meet quality and process safety specifications.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Process chemical products using batch sheet instructions.
  • Monitor gauges, recording instruments, flow meters, or products to ensure that specified conditions are maintained.
  • Measure, weigh, and mix chemical ingredients according to specifications.
  • Track and record process information and production data.
  • Perform basic laboratory tests which may include viscosity, Karl Fisher, GC, pH, glycol, alkalinity, and others as requested.
  • Clean and prepare equipment, as required, for maintenance.
  • Draw samples of products as specified stages so that analyses can be performed.
  • Load and unload material containers such as tank cars, tank trucks, drums, and totes.
  • Maintain plant housekeeping in specifically assigned areas and elsewhere as requested.
  • Set up equipment for production by operating valves and pumps, and insuring line-ups are correct without internal or external leaks.
  • Complete equipment log sheets as requested.
  • Operate heavy equipment, including a forklift, man lift, and crane.
  • Perform routine plant surveillance to report and correct, if possible, any abnormal situations.
  • Complete and maintain all level one required training and certification.
  • Observe all company policies.
  • Observe all safety policies and procedures. Participate in plant safety processes and immediately report any unsafe conditions.
  • Remain current on the requirements of the QMS and ensure that your actions support the Company Quality Policy towards continual improvement.
  • Maintain familiarity of the safe handling, environmental regulations, and emergency response for all materials in your area.
  • Other duties as assigned.

  • HS diploma or equivalent is required.
