Job description details are provided below. RiverStone Health serves the Yellowstone County community and south-central Montana and seeks a Chief People Officer to lead HR and people strategies.
Responsibilities
- Senior Leadership (35%): Develop and implement HR strategies that align with the organizations mission and make RiverStone Health an Employer of Choice; collaborate with executive leadership to shape organizational culture and strategy; oversee talent acquisition and retention; promote a safe, supported, and inspiring work environment; compile and share HR metrics; update organizational development and training programs; participate in budget conversations regarding staffing, compensation, and benefits.
- HR Operations (60%): Maintain and deliver an HRIS strategy; empower leaders to take an active role in staffing; create KPIs for performance management and engagement; implement and update compensation and performance management approaches to support pay equity and competitiveness; manage employee relations; ensure legal compliance and risk management; oversee benefits administration, payroll, and employee services; develop, review, and approve HR policies and procedures; consult with organizational leadership on talent acquisition, onboarding, and staff development; liaise with outside counsel/Compliance Office and with partners delivering benefits.
Non-Essential Functions/Other duties as assigned (5%).
Education and Experience
Minimum Qualifications - Bachelors Degree in Human Resources Management or Business Administration with an emphasis in Management
- Five (5) years at the senior leadership level (director or above)
- Seven (7) years of combined leadership and/or HR experience; or equivalent education, experience, and training
Preferred Qualifications - ICS emergency preparedness training
- Clinical talent acquisition and compensation experience
- Experience with governmental or quasi-governmental employment
Required Certificates, Licenses, Registrations - Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR) or Senior Certified Professional (SCP); may be obtained within 12 months of employment

- Experience with Microsoft O365 and HRIS

- Ability to build trust and conduct professional interactions with officials, the board, staff, and applicants

Supervision
Physical Demands and Working Conditions
- Work can be high-stress when dealing with delicate HR matters
- Work is primarily at a computer in an office (about eight hours per day)
- Maintain a safe/secure working environment and apply safety, security, and health requirements
Freedom to Act & Decision Making
- Work supervised by the CEO
- Decisions affect the quality of services for more than 350 FTE, PRN, and part-time staff
- Considerable leeway for independent judgment and initiative
Communications & Networking
- Consult with executives and managers on employment issues such as strategic HR, employee relations, compensation, and performance management
- Coach staff to balance organizational needs with employee needs
- Present HR topics to leadership and board members to enhance understanding and application
Budget & Resource Management
- Directly responsible for the HR budget as part of the Administrative budget
- Human assets represent nearly $25M of RiverStone Healths annual budget
- Consult with leaders to manage staffing levels, compensation, benefits, payroll taxes, and related costs
- Oversee costs related to ongoing organizational development
