We are seeking a motivated and experienced Commercial Overhead and Coiling Door Salesman to join our team. This role is responsible for developing new business, managing existing client relationships, and overseeing commercial door projects from initial lead through contract completion.

The ideal candidate will have strong technical knowledge of overhead and coiling door systems, excellent communication skills, and proven experience in sales, estimating, and project management.

Compensation:

$60,000 - $75,000 per year

Responsibilities:

Sales & Business Development

  • Prospect, qualify, and secure new commercial accounts through networking, referrals, cold calls, and lead follow-up.
  • Build and maintain long-term relationships with general contractors, property managers, facility engineers, and other decision makers.
  • Deliver professional presentations and proposals tailored to client needs.

Estimating & Bidding

  • Review architectural drawings, specifications, and job plans to perform accurate take-offs.
  • Prepare cost estimates, proposals, and competitive bids in a timely manner.
  • Coordinate with vendors and internal staff to ensure material pricing, lead times, and technical requirements are correct.
  • Submit and track bids, negotiate pricing, and close contracts.

Project Management

  • Manage awarded contracts from pre-construction to job completion.
  • Coordinate with operations, installers, and subcontractors to ensure timely delivery and installation.
  • Communicate regularly with clients regarding project schedules, progress, and changes.
  • Track project costs, maintain margin integrity, and resolve issues promptly.
  • Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and contractual requirements.

Administrative

  • Maintain accurate records in CRM and job management systems.
  • Prepare regular sales activity, pipeline, and revenue reports.
  • Attend team meetings, training sessions, and industry events as required.
Qualifications:
  • Proven experience in commercial construction sales, preferably in doors, hardware, or building products.
  • Strong knowledge of overhead, sectional, rolling steel, and coiling door products.
  • Ability to read and interpret architectural drawings, blueprints, and specifications.
  • Proficiency with take-off and estimating software, Microsoft Office Suite, and CRM tools.
  • Excellent negotiation, presentation, and communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Self-motivated, goal-oriented, and able to work independently or as part of a team.

Physical & Other Requirements

  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
  • Ability to visit job sites (construction environments, warehouses, industrial facilities).
  • Occasional lifting of product samples, job documents, or equipment (up to 25 lbs).
