For more than 20 years, Threemile Canyon Farms has responsibly provided for the nutritional needs of a growing population through sustainable dairy and farming operations. While we are proud of our contributions, we know that what sets us apart is not just what we do, but how we do it.

We were early innovators in building a "closed loop" system of sustainable farming, which is made possible by our decision to bring together crop farming and dairy production. These are highly complementary pursuits - particularly when it comes to recycling waste. We put organic waste back into the soil, which not only minimizes the amount of waste we produce but also helps keep our crops healthy. With more than 39,500 acres of irrigated farmland, we understand that our commitment to responsible farming is important to us as well as our community.

Specific Duties Include:

• Creates and executes communication strategies for internal and external parties.
• Serves as primary media contact for farm operations and manages all public relations situations, including acting as the voice and spokesperson of the organization.
• Works closely with legislative liaison team to provide messages and materials to supporting legislative goals.
• Directs the generation of digital and social content - both editorial and visual -- that engages specific audiences and has measurable impact.
• Develops written content including editorials, letters to policy makers, presentations and other materials to advance the company's goals.
• Supports the crisis communication function, should a need arise
• Partners and guides outside firms that provide additional support and resources as needed.
• Builds strong and professional working relationships with team members at all levels of the organization and exemplify teamwork and camaraderie.
• Handles all aspects of work with integrity and support an ethical work environment.
• Ensures that the company/location reputation and image in the community is consistent with R.D. Offutt Company Core Values, and that business relationships with all stakeholders are not compromised.
• Follows all safety rules and regulations while performing work assignments and adhere to all policies and procedures as specified in company manuals and as directed in the employee handbook.
• Proactively seeks and participates in available company-sponsored training, in an effort to develop and advance knowledge base and skill set.
• Performs all other duties as assigned by management in a professional and efficient manner.

Job Requirements:

• 7+ years of experience in the field or in a related area.
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience.
• Experience across multiple areas of Corporate Communications including media relations, community relations, and social media.
• Previous management experience preferred.
• Excellent verbal, written, presentation and informal communication skills with an ability to adapt the communication style for the situation.
• Self-starter who works well both independently and part of a team with an ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Ability to travel to Boardman, OR about twice a month to work with the team there and stay connected to farm operations.
• Strong understanding of agriculture, food production and/or environmental issues is welcomed but not required.
• Candidates must have valid work authorization and be able to work in the U.S. without company sponsorship.
