Job ID: 22504 The Space Dynamics Laboratory (SDL) is seeking a dedicated Full-Time Security Guard to oversee our construction entry control points. This role is crucial in maintaining the security and integrity of SDL construction sites.
The work schedule will be Monday through Friday, between 7:00 am and 5:00pm. You will be expected to work a total of 8 hours within this time frame, with a scheduled 1-hour lunch break.

Key Responsibilities: - Staff construction entry control points, verify badges, and professionally greet, assist, and provide security escort for all construction personnel.
- Conduct thorough inspections of tools, equipment, bags, and construction materials entering and leaving the site to ensure compliance with security requirements
- Maintain and update daily visit logs
- Ensure adherence to security protocols by documenting and reporting any suspicious activities, security breaches, or deviations from approved procedures. Communicate promptly and accurately with the security management team regarding potential threats or concerns
- Respond quickly to alarms and provide support in emergency response situations as required
The Security Guard may also be asked to assist with the following tasks:
- Be available and willing to cover security duties at other facilities
- Process and issue security badges to visitors
- Perform, as needed, routine foot patrols to ensure site security
Required Qualifications: - U.S. Citizenship and ability to obtain a U.S. Government security clearance
- Must be willing to work on-site in Logan, UT - this is a non-remote position
- Exceptional punctuality and reliability
- Ability handle and protect sensitive information
- Excellent communication skills for interacting with internal and external stakeholders
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and various office equipment
- Strong observational and decision-making skills
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously
- Capacity to work well under pressure and prioritize assignments
- Ability to stand, walk, and monitor a construction site for extended periods
- Must be able to work in various conditions and environments related to construction sites
Preferred Qualifications: - Active security clearance
- Flexibility to work extended hours and cover other shifts as needed
- Experience using CCTV and access control systems
- Experience issuing security badges and maintaining inventory control
