Job Summary:

The Data Center Cabling Specialist will act as the on-site coordinator and crew supervisor for cabling/data installation projects. The Cabling Specialist's task will be to ensure job completion according to company and customer quality and safety requirements while maintaining the efficiency of the staff assigned to the project.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Includes the following essential duties and responsibilities (other duties may also be assigned):

1. Lead team(s) of cabling technicians and installers, providing guidance, training, and supervision to ensure work is completed efficiently and to the highest standards.
2. Run major project crews; assume responsibility for effective performance and provide necessary training; adhere to Company and customer safety and quality guidelines.
3. Plan, coordinate, and execute cabling projects, including installation, termination, and testing of network and communication cables.
4. Conduct site surveys and assess cabling requirements to determine appropriate materials, equipment, and resources needed for each project.
5. Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to develop cabling plans and strategies.
6. Coordinate with Project Manager to ensure productivity, job completion, and compliance with project budget.
7. Ensure compliance with relevant codes, regulations, and safety guidelines during cabling installations.
8. Troubleshoot and diagnose complex cabling issues.
9. Perform cable terminations, splicing, and testing to ensure optimal network performance.
10. Maintain accurate documentation of cabling projects.
11. Keep up-to-date with industry trends and best practices in cabling.
12. Monitor and manage inventory of cabling materials, tools, and equipment.
13. Serve as main on-site customer contact for questions and/or concerns related to cabling work.

Qualifications:

1. High school diploma or equivalent; additional certifications in cabling systems are highly desirable.
2. Proven experience as a Lead Cabling Technician or similar role.
3. Proficiency in using cabling tools and equipment.
4. Strong leadership and team management skills.
5. Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
6. Solid understanding of safety protocols.
7. Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
8. Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects.
9. 6+ years of experience.
10. In-depth knowledge of cabling standards.

Physical Requirements:

1. Maneuvering on uneven ground and climbing ladders.
2. Must be able to regularly lift and/or move up to 35lbs.
3. Must be able to work on feet for prolonged periods.
4. Must be able to travel up to 75-80% of the time.

Salary Range:

$72,000 - $83,000
