Job Title: Data Center Installer/Technician
Location: Columbus OH
Duration: Full time
Job Description: The scope of work will be predominantly running and connecting single mode fibers inside several different major data centers in the Columbus OH area.
Job duties as follows:
1. Performing Data Center based Installation tasks, including but not limited to rack mounting, superstructure modification as needed, PDU installation, shelf mounting, grounding, alarm and interbay cable connections, power lug crimping / connections, fiber jumper installation, cleaning, scoping, power verification.
2. Light Testing / configuration of the OEM equipment. Using test equipment for basic configuration (laptop - IP addressing & setup, Optical Power Meter, OTDR, etc.) Working remotely with OEM and / or carrier NOC teams for connectivity to system and handoff for more detailed network provisioning and configuration.
3. Primary field point of contact at the job site level for client PM, client’s site contacts, material / tool needs, overseeing of any other techs on site to ensure client is represented professionally and the job is completed correctly and on time.
