Position Description

Director, Benioff Initiative in Prostate Cancer Research Faculty Position at the Helen Diller Family Comprehensive Cancer Center (HDFCCC), University of California, San Francisco (UCSF).

The BIPCR is a crossinstitutional research program dedicated to understanding the biology of aggressive prostate cancer and developing strategies for curing metastatic disease. The Director will lead the program, secure and manage funding, collaborate with internal and external partners, mentor earlycareer scientists, and communicate results to stakeholders.

The incumbent will be appointed as the George and Judy Marcus Distinguished Professor and may also be considered for leadership roles in the UCSF Prostate Cancer SPORE (NCI P50 Grant) and/or the HDFCCC Cancer Center Support Grant (CCSG, NCI P30 Grant)-funded Prostate Cancer Program. The position will be at the Associate or Full Professor rank.

Qualifications

  • MD, MDPhD or equivalent required.
  • Internationally recognized physicianscientist with an outstanding track record in basic and translational cancer research.
  • Research portfolio and funding focused on prostate cancer with a strong history of peerreviewed scientific publications.
  • Experience leading and managing large research projects/collaborations beyond ones own laboratory.
  • Demonstrated commitment to mentoring earlycareer scientists.
  • Strong communication skills with external stakeholders.
