WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR
We’re looking for an exceptional Expert Designer to bring their experience, craftsmanship, problem-solving abilities, and above all, creativity, to be a unique creative within the Footwear Excellence team, spearheading what is next for the Jordan brand. The ideal candidate needs to be highly creative, versatile, adaptable, and an innovator who thrives in a dynamic environment with an exceptional eye for silhouette, style, method of make, and a solid understanding of lifestyle and performance attributes. This role requires a unique combination of traditional footwear design expertise and advanced digital capabilities, including 3D modeling, physical modeling and rendering. The ideal candidate will be responsible for bringing visionary footwear concepts to life, from initial 2D sketches to high-fidelity 3D virtual prototypes. The ideal candidate will focus on elevating the art of footwear design by blending their expertise in digital tools with craftsman-level making and construction skills, using renderings and physical samples to persuasively communicate ideas and concepts at the highest level.

WHAT YOU WILL WORK ON

Your goal is pushing revolutionary aesthetics when it comes to footwear product design, partnering closely with the Footwear Excellence leader and the rest of the Excellence team across Apparel, 3D, and Styling. Your work encompasses scoping, concepting and ideating through the lens of the future Jordan consumer, creating footwear concepts to showcase where the future of footwear can go. Your focus on making Jordan the market leader will drive innovation, future aesthetics, not only through actual product, but in the way, Jordan creates product, to unleash future leading designs that truly disrupt the competition. The daily responsibilities of this role are wide ranging, demanding, but rewarding and exciting! As a Expert Designer in footwear excellence, you will have the opportunity to wear many hats as a designer, exploring new methods of make and push the boundaries of Jordan design.

WHO YOU WILL WORK WITH

You’ll work with a broad range of different professionals and collaborate within the design community to bring to life energetic, creative ideas through footwear. This role will report directly to the Global Senior Director of Footwear Excellence.

WHAT YOU BRING

• Bachelor’s degree in design or related field. Will accept any suitable combination of education, experience and training
• At least 10 years’ experience designing and developing innovative footwear and other products
• Knowledge of form, color, materials, human factors, related to elevating the consumer experience
• Ability to translate consumer knowledge and insights into product solutions and narratives
• Experience in technical footwear design
• Strong Photoshop, Illustrator skills
• Must be able to build accurate 2D technical drawings (tech packs)
• Cobbling and prototyping skills are a plus
• 3D design programs, 3D printing and Ai experience is a plus
• Strong sketching, illustration, and rendering skills
• Solid knowledge of manufacturing processes and materials
• Strong critical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
• A passion for innovation and a deep curiosity for new technologies. 
• Knowledge and experience with sustainable design and manufacturing are a plus
