This position is located in Sterling, VA, USA

The Junior Project Manager is responsible for delivering our clients and customers a successful door, frame, and hardware package for projects awarded to Houston-Starr Doors. They will provide our customers with excellent customer service by communicating clearly, offering solutions to problems, responding to questions/inquiries they may have, and meeting deadlines. Project Managers are the face of the company and are expected to adhere to HSC’s core values, tenets, and ethics. This is an entry-level position.

 

The Project Manager is an ongoing, evolving position. Duties may be added, removed, or modified as seen fit by the management of HSD.

Compensation is base salary plus additional commission-based compensation after training.

 

Responsibilities: 
• Input information from HSC awarded projects into an industry-specific software system (Detailing).
• Use that information to create and compile submittal packages for customer and Architect review.
• Source and order material from stock, manufacturers, and suppliers.
• Track acknowledgments and orders from manufacturers to ensure material is shipping to meet the projects’ schedule.
• Coordinate with customers and HSC Warehouse to schedule deliveries to job sites.
• Coordinate with installers and other trades to ensure job sites/door openings are prepared to receive HSC supplied material.
• Occasionally visit job sites to measure new openings or verify measurements.
• Manage and resolve customer and product issues, schedule changes, oversee quality assurance and project closeout.
• Build and maintain long-term relationships with clients and vendors.
• Maintain and expand technical and industry knowledge through classes, workshops, and industry publications.
• Periodically review completed projects with senior management for continuous improvement, helping guarantee future success on upcoming projects.
• Make all decisions for the project by applying the values of HSC.
