We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Quality Manager to join our team, supporting our large part machining operations. In this critical role, you will be responsible for ensuring the quality of highly complex, low-rate manufactured components, from raw material through final inspection. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of machining processes, metrology, GD&T, and quality management systems, with a proven ability to implement and improve quality controls in a challenging manufacturing environment.
Responsibilities
\n - Develop, implement, and maintain quality plans and procedures for large part machining processes.
\n - Conduct thorough root cause analysis and implement effective corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) for non-conformances related to machining processes and large part geometries.
\n - Perform first article inspections (FAI), in-process inspections, and final inspections of complex machined components, utilizing a wide range of precision measurement equipment (e.g., CMM, laser trackers, conventional metrology tools).
\n - Interpret complex engineering drawings, specifications, and GD&T requirements to ensure product conformance and establish appropriate inspection methodologies.
\n - Collaborate closely with manufacturing engineers, machinists, and design teams to optimize machining processes, reduce defects, and improve overall product quality.
\n - Lead and participate in continuous improvement initiatives, including process capability studies (CpK, PpK), statistical process control (SPC) implementation, and lean manufacturing principles.
\n - Participate in supplier quality activities, including source inspections and qualification of machining suppliers.
\n - Support internal and external audits (e.g., ISO 9001, AS9100) and ensure compliance with relevant industry standards and customer requirements.
\n - Develop and deliver quality training to manufacturing personnel on best practices, quality tools, and inspection techniques.
\n - Generate comprehensive quality reports, trend analysis, and performance metrics for management review.

Required Education, Experience, & Skills \n - Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related technical field.
\n - 10+ years of progressive experience as a Quality Manager in a low-rate manufacturing environment, specifically supporting large part machining.
\n - Demonstrated expertise in interpreting and applying ASME Y14.5 Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
\n - Proficiency in various metrology techniques and equipment, including CMM programming and operation, laser tracking, and conventional hand tools.
\n - Strong understanding of machining processes (milling, turning, boring, grinding, etc.) and their impact on part quality.
\n - Experience with quality management systems (e.g., ISO 9001, AS9100) and internal/external audit processes.
\n - Proven experience with root cause analysis methodologies (e.g., 8D, 5 Whys, Fishbone diagrams) and CAPA implementation.
\n - Familiarity with statistical process control (SPC) and process capability analysis (CpK, PpK).
\n - Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
\n - Ability to work independently and as part of a cross-functional team in a dynamic manufacturing environment.

Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills \n - Master's degree in a relevant engineering discipline.
\n - ASQ Certifications (e.g., CQE, CMQ/OE, CQA).
\n - Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and Six Sigma methodologies.
\n - Proficiency in Minitab or other statistical software.

Pay Information Full-Time Salary Range: $133333 - $226667
Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
