Job Overview:
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Maintenance Superintendent to lead our maintenance operations. This role is crucial in ensuring the efficiency and reliability of both mobile and stationary equipment, including loaders, dozers, conveyors, crushers, hoists, and shafts. The successful candidate will prioritize safety, enhance personnel management, and implement effective preventive and predictive maintenance strategies. This position also involves the planning and execution of various projects aimed at maintaining operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and enhance preventive maintenance programs by applying technical expertise and adhering to safety protocols.
  • Oversee and guide maintenance teams, including mechanics and electricians, across three shifts, and manage on-call duties.
  • Promote a safe working environment by enforcing safety programs and standards.
  • Implement maintenance practices to minimize repeat equipment failures.
  • Encourage a collaborative and positive team environment, fostering strong labor relations.
  • Manage budgets, lead cost reduction initiatives, and oversee spare parts inventory management.
  • Spearhead continuous improvement projects to enhance operational efficiency.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or equivalent experience is preferred.
  • 10+ years of experience in maintenance and reliability, with at least 7 years in a leadership role and 5 years in the mining sector (preferably underground).
  • Proficiency in CMMS systems.
  • Strong communication and team leadership skills.
  • Proactive with excellent planning and problem-solving abilities.

Physical Requirements:
Candidates must be able to lift up to 50 lbs, climb ladders, wear personal protective equipment, and work in various temperature conditions. Successful candidates will be subject to a pre-employment drug screening, physical examination, and background check.
