Job Summary:
Under general supervision and within specific, limited authority provides efficient and effective disposition of assigned claims through timely investigation, evaluation, and negotiation. Independently operates within parameters to accurately resolve lower exposure claims. The candidate should be familiar with insurance policy languages and able to apply claims adjusting principals to determine applicable coverage.

Responsibilities

• Maintain organized and detailed claims files within internal database systems.
• Set accurate reserves within specific authority limits or make recommendations for adjusting reserves as necessary and appropriate.
• Ensure accuracy of documentation and information relative to each claim.
• Understands and applies salvage and subrogation processes to assist internal and external legal department with the recovery process.

Requirements

• Strong claims technical knowledge for marine, cargo, freight or related claims experience.
• Demonstrated proficiency with computer software including Microsoft Office suite and other claims tracking systems.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
• Makes decisions in a timely manner.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Education and Experience

• Bachelor's degree preferred or equivalent claims technical experience required.
• Minimum of 1 year of prior claims adjusting experience.
• Adjusters License in any of the U.S. states
