Pay: $15 per hour
Shift: Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM
The Medical Biller plays a key role in providing excellent front-office support while ensuring accurate and timely billing. This role involves greeting and assisting patients, verifying insurance details, and handling billing for Medicare, Medicaid, and private insurance plans. We're seeking a detail-oriented, organized individual who excels in customer service and thrives in a fast-paced healthcare setting.
Responsibilities:
- Verify insurance coverage (Medicare, Medicaid, private insurance)
- Obtain pre-authorizations and referrals
- Update patient records with accurate insurance and demographic info
- Submit and follow up on insurance claims
- Ensure coding accuracy (CPT, ICD-10)
- Resolve rejected or denied claims
- Post insurance and patient payments
- Generate and send patient statements
- Collect co-pays and outstanding balances
- Address patient billing inquiries
- Maintain HIPAA-compliant, confidential records
- Assist with administrative tasks as needed
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent (medical billing certification is a plus)
- Experience with EMR and medical billing software
- Knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid, and private insurance billing
- Familiarity with CPT and ICD-10 coding
- Strong customer service and communication skills
- Ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced environment
- Attention to detail and organizational skills
- Previous experience in a medical office setting is preferred
