A Manufacturer company of military parts is seeking a Contract Buyer/Purchaser.

Position requires experience in  government contracting and government purchasing activities with various government agencies . Will be responsible for all aspects of purchasing within the dollar limits prescribed by law.  MUST  be able to successfully pass any background checks and/or drug testing required on the contract & have  U.S. Citizenship.

Job Overview:

• Knowledge of  government bid process, including readings and drawings
• Perform necessary purchasing procedures for the acquisition of supplies and services.
• Prepare bid requests, quotes and specifications.
• Schedule, receive, and analyze bids..
• Recommend proposals regarding the awarding of bids.
• Identifies cost reduction opportunities.
• Seeks new supply sources.
• Develops and maintains Approved Supplier/Subcontractor Lists.
• Determines type of agreement and method of award.
• Ensure appropriate FAR/DFAR clauses are included.
• Negotiates with suppliers/subcontractors.
• Evaluates proposed prices and terms from suppliers/subcontractors.
• Conducts price/cost analysis.
• Files documentation in accordance with appropriate checklist
• Administers Purchase Orders
• Review and prioritize requisitions and proposed specifications.
• Research existing needs in order to match current market availability.
• Prepare bid requests and specifications.
• Schedule, receive, and analyze bids.
• Recommend proposals regarding the awarding of bids.
• Provide necessary documentation to clerical staff, departments, divisions, officials, and vendors.
• Review new marketplace products and services.
• Evaluate suppliers, goods, services, bids, and proposals.
• Other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements:

• Must be able to work and handle the pressure of dealing with deadlines.
• Knowledge and experience with (DOD) federal government procurement specifications and standards for Military Parts.
• Computer savvy in MS Office 365
• Knowledge of equipment, materials, and services required by a government.
• Knowledge of electronic procurement data processing systems.
• Ability to deal with a variety of people in a professional, courteous manner in diversified situations.
• Valid state Driver’s License with acceptable driving record pertinent to the position.
