Position Description & Responsibilities:

ProspectBlue is working with a leading investment banking client to recruit a Municipal Finance Analyst for their Richmond, Virginia office. Our client provides financial advisory services to municipalities (cities, counties, public authorities, and non-profits) in the mid-Atlantic region who actively borrow funds via the tax-exempt municipal bond marketplace. This Finance Analyst position entails working with Senior Bankers in the Municipal Finance department on a variety of assignments including but not limited to:

• Conducting quantitative analysis and financial research
• Preparing client reports, presentations, and offering statements
• Conducting analysis of various financing options such as public market bond issues and/or bank debt placements

The daily workflow will entail conducting quantitative analysis using available financial programs and firm templates, evaluating strategic financing options, comparing financial and economic data, and design and layout of client presentation materials.

Desired Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree - accounting, economics, or finance majors highly desired. Minimum 3.5 GPA for consideration.
• Familiarity with accounting and finance concepts and terminology
• Ability to study for and obtain a Series 50 license within one year of start date
• Intermediate to advanced skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint
• Ability to work on multiple ongoing client projects and meet tight deadlines
• Excellent writing and communication skills
