Position Purpose Role Purpose Plans, manages and organizes all aspects of the Nurse Practitioners and other staff as appropriate within the specialty departments at Barnes Jewish and St. Louis Children's Hospitals. Responsibilities Lead with expertise - Provide direct leadership to our NNP team, ensuring clinical excellence, operational efficiency, and regulatory readiness. Drive Innovation - Champion progressive models of NNP practice, building structures that optimize patient outcomes and align with national best practices. Inspire and develop talent - Mentor, coach, and empower NNPs to grow professionally while fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and innovation. Shape the future - Partner with nursing and physician leadership to design and implement visionary care models that expand the role of NNPs and strengthen our program. Advance outcomes - Use data-driven decision making to enhance quality, reduce variability, and ensure the highest standards of patient- and family-centered care. Develops and adheres to departmental staffing, revenue and/or expense budgets. Responds to changes in the business which may affect the ability to achieve the budget goals. Provides guidance and direction to Nurse Practitioners which promotes excellent patient care and improved clinical outcomes. Manages the health care of select patient populations through advanced health assessment, diagnosis, intervention, and evaluation. Works closely with department leadership to ensure compliance with excellent evidence-based practice.
