Machine Operator

We are seeking a skilled Machine Operator to join our team in Lebanon, Tennessee. The role involves operating progressive, tandem, and transfer presses, bonding metal components, and ensuring the quality of metal stampings. You will be responsible for producing, verifying, stacking, and sorting metal parts while adhering to safety and company standards.

Responsibilities:

• Manually load parts or blanks into machines and place parts into inventory baskets.
• Inspect components and assemblies visually for quality defects such as scrap marks, rust, burrs, lamination, and missing welds.
• Measure parts to ensure they meet specifications.
• Record and report production, quality, and inventory information accurately.
• Monitor weld machines or presses for proper operation and report any malfunctions or problems to supervisors and maintenance.
• Perform all duties and operate machinery and equipment according to safety standards and company procedures, using required safety equipment such as gloves, sleeves, and earplugs.
• Label and/or tag parts and baskets accurately.
• Perform routine and preventative maintenance and setup, including die setting/fastening and machine lubrication.
• Utilize tools such as hand-held pliers, wrenches, screwdrivers, and die bars.

Essential Skills:

• Experience in production and machine operation.
• Ability to read blueprints and use power tools.
• Mechanically inclined with the ability to load machines.
• Proficient in using measuring tools in a manufacturing environment.
• Inspection and assembly skills.
• General labor abilities, including the use of hand tools and tape measures.
• Experience with press brakes and calipers.
• Troubleshooting skills.

Additional Skills & Qualifications:

• Open to learning machine operations and set-ups.
• Experience with machine operation and changeovers is a plus.
• No certifications required.
• No medical monitoring necessary.

Work Environment:

This is a heavy industrial environment with several large metal stamping presses. The facility houses a couple hundred employees and is not climate controlled.

Job Type & Location:

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Lebanon, TN.

Pay and Benefits:

The pay range for this position is $21.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
