Job Summary:

We are seeking a dependable, proactive Private Tutor to work, IN PERSON , helping a busy business owner manage the academic and daily routines of their 4th & 8th grade students. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a supportive, structured environment and enjoys working with children. Responsibilities include daily homework assistance, maintaining the student’s academic calendar, coordinating pick-up and drop-off, and ensuring all school-related tasks and events are handled efficiently. You’ll be a key support system for both the student and the parent, helping create balance between school, home, and a busy entrepreneurial lifestyle.

Key Responsibilities:

Can include but not limited to:

• Provide daily homework help and academic tutoring in core subjects

• Organize and maintain the student’s academic calendar, including:

  • School events

  • Award ceremonies

  • Parent-teacher conferences

  • Deadlines and extracurricular activities

• Ensure the student stays on track with assignments and academic goals

• Communicate with parents regularly on school progress and upcoming obligations

• Manage safe and timely pick-up and drop-off for school and related activities

• Offer general support with after-school routines and time management

• Assist in preparing for tests, projects, and presentations

• Utilize the student’s school portal to monitor grades, assignments, and attendance

• Use teacher-student communication apps to stay connected with educators and support the student’s academic success

• Assist in creating a structured after-school routine that balances learning and downtime

• Provide general support to the business owner in managing their child’s day-to-day academic life

Qualifications:

• Strong organizational and time management skills

• Reliable transportation and clean driving record, valid drivers license

• Dependable with a strong sense of responsibility — must be punctual and consistent

• Self-motivated and able to work independently with minimal supervision

• Excellent communication skills, able to collaborate with both parents and educators effectively

• Patient, positive, and child-friendly demeanor

• Tech-savvy with the ability to navigate school portals, learning platforms, and teacher-parent communication apps

• Professional, respectful, and adaptable to a fast-paced, entrepreneurial household

• Must be willing to undergo a background check prior to employment

Preferred:

• Prior tutoring or teaching experience preferred

• Some college or a degree in education, child development, or a related field is a plus or current college student preferred
