JK Executive Strategies is proud to partner with a growing construction company in Rochester, NY in its search of a
Project Manager! Our client offers general contracting services for commercial construction projects, specializing in food services, industrial, medical, and retail.
Our client's highly skilled employees produce premier results on specialty ceilings, framing, drywall, and a diverse range of additional structural elements. The company has a strong focus on innovation, safety, and quality and is renowned for producing consistently stunning results.
This role is critical to the organization and will prove pivotal in the continued growth of the company's product lines. This position requires a proactive, forward-thinking, and energetic person who is results-oriented and capable of professional and detailed follow-through.
Responsibilities - Determine the project deliverables and specifications, including the project scope, necessary project resources, and estimated labor needed by collaborating with clients, engineers, and sales.
- Calculate the cost estimate of all project tasks and accurately manage the project budget.
- Plan and schedule the entire project including engineering, procurement, fabrication, and installation timelines to make sure project deadlines are met.
- Assist in the acquisition of appropriate licenses and permits from the corresponding authorities and ensure construction is up to code.
- Work with general contractors, critical subcontractors, and external vendors to negotiate profitable contracts.
- Communicate the status of the project to key stakeholders by providing regular progress reports.
- Put organizational systems into place to ensure tools and equipment are well-maintained, and schedule maintenance if needed.
Requirements - Bachelor's degree in engineering, construction management, or related fields preferred.
- 5+ years of work experience in construction management.
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is preferred, not required.
- In-depth knowledge of the construction industry and the entire building process, including building codes, blueprints, permits, construction equipment, material resources, construction processes, and project management principles.
- Will need to have experience working as or with a field superintendent, with knowledge of architectural, reinforcing, structural steel, and roofing.
- Experience using construction or project management software preferred.
- Strong communication skills, leadership skills, organizational skills, problem-solving skills, and time-management skills.
- Prior management experience to visualize future needs to build a team.
