RN Nurse Educator Behavioral Health-Full Time
Job Summary:\n\nThe Clinical Educator carries out a plan of educational activities to enhance, promote, and maintain the standard of care within the hospital.\n\nMajor Responsibilities / Duties / Critical Tasks:\n\n* Assesses and identifies learning need.\n* Coordinates continuous comprehensive educational activities and research for employees.\n* Develops and provides educational programs to improve critical thinking and professional skills of the staff at the bedside and in the management arenas.\n* Evaluates the effectiveness of actions.\n* Implements financial accountability for ongoing unit-based educational activities and evaluates outcomes based on learner feedback and budgetary guidelines.\n* Maintains established standards of practice, implements professional development educational training for professional growth.\n* Plans and implements appropriate interventions.\n* Utilizes the values and principles of UT Health East Texas to develop unit-based educational activities and evaluates the effectiveness of these activities on an ongoing basis by assessing changes in clinical performance and improved customer satisfaction.\n* Other duties as assigned.\n\nAccompanying Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Competencies:\n\n* Ability to keep detailed records; to assemble and organize data of complex nature, and to prepare and submit reports in acceptable and/or required formats.\n* Ability to multitask effectively.\n* Ability to collaborate with coworkers and functionally related teams.\n* Ability to work with confidential and sensitive information with discretion.\n* Computer skills, including Microsoft office, technical drawings, cad.\n* Excellent oral and written communication skills.\n* Good organizational and leadership skills.\n\nRequired Education / Experience:\n\n* Bachelor's degree in nursing from an accredited school of nursing.\n* Five (5) years of critical care clinical experience.\n* Familiarity with the organization and functions of other disciplines within the hospital.\n* Current Texas License as a Registered Nurse.\n* NLS from AHA.\n* May accept a combination of education and experience.\n\nPreferred Education / Experience:\n\n* Master's degree in nursing.\n* Two (2) years of management and/or teaching experience.\n\nWorking Environment:\n\n* Standard office environment.\n\n
