Job Description:
We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Occupational Therapist (OT) to join our team in Spanaway, WA. This full-time, onsite position will involve working with students in elementary and middle schools, providing therapy services to help students improve their functional abilities and promote independence in academic and daily activities. The ideal candidate will be passionate about supporting students development and equipped to address a variety of needs in the school setting.

Responsibilities:

Provide direct occupational therapy services to elementary and middle school students.
Conduct assessments to evaluate students physical, sensory, and motor skills.
Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on student needs and goals.
Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other school staff to create a supportive environment for student success.
Provide training and resources to teachers and staff on strategies to accommodate students needs in the classroom.
Monitor student progress and adjust therapy plans as needed to support academic and functional success.
Participate in IEP (Individualized Education Program) meetings and contribute to the development of therapy goals.
Educate parents and caregivers on home exercises and strategies to support students development.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of student assessments, treatment plans, and progress.

Qualifications:

Masters degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program.
Current OT license in the state of Washington.
Experience working in a school setting, particularly with elementary and middle school students, is preferred.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Knowledge of IEP processes and experience contributing to IEP meetings.
Compassionate and patient with a commitment to student success.
