Job Description

As a Staff Accountant you will make positive contributions and observations that help us improve financial results. This allows you to work cross-functionally, partnering with other key departments in our business. Exciting opportunity to be part of a growing company where you will work across all functions of the accounting department to quickly learn about the business.

Core Accounting Responsibilities:

  • Assist with monthly close process to ensure accurate and timely financial results.
  • Prepare monthly bank reconciliations and create monthly journal entries.
  • Perform balance sheet account reconciliations and resolve variances monthly and/or quarterly.
  • Take responsibility for job cost accounting for various multi-family projects.
  • Manage fixed asset schedule and post depreciation journal entries each month.
  • Support accounts receivable and accounts payable on an as-needed basis.
  • Collaborate with project managers to complete multi-family project cost reviews.
  • Collaborate with operations team to continue to drive process improvement and cost savings.
  • Assist with preparation of audit workpapers.
  • Ad-hoc special projects

Requirements:  

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting
  • 0-3 years of experience in either corporate or public accounting
  • Prior experience with general ledger, month end close and reconciliations a plus, but not required
  • Exposure to construction industry a plus including exposure to job cost, construction WIP accounting
  • Targeting someone who is results driven, energetic and self-motivated along with having the ability to build strong relationships
  • Ability to work cross-functionally with other departments

SCHEDULE: Monday to Friday  

LOCATION: On-site / in person, Indianapolis, IN  

SALARY: Exempt, Salary based
