Job Description
T BAILEY is looking for a detail-oriented and motivated individual to join our team as a Steel Detailer Trainee. This entry-level role supports our Detailing Department by producing fabrication drawings for tanks, plate work, casing, penstock, and other steel structures we fabricate and erect. This is a great opportunity to build a career in steel detailing-on-the-job training is provided in a collaborative and supportive environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Produce fabrication and assembly drawings using AutoCAD and other software.
Interpret design drawings, specifications, and industry standards.
Work closely with Detailing Supervisor on project-specific needs.
Create part details and nesting files for CNC plasma cutting.
Coordinate with Project Managers and other departments.
Attend safety meetings and follow company protocols.
Keep a clean and organized workspace.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent.
Basic knowledge of 2D AutoCAD or similar software.
Understanding of basic geometry and Imperial/Metric measurements.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Legal U.S. work authorization.
Reliable attendance and professional conduct.
Preferred:
Associate degree in CAD Technology, Drafting, or Engineering.
Experience with 3D CAD or modeling software is a plus.
Work Environment:
This position is primarily office-based in Anacortes, WA with occasional visits to our on-site shops and construction sites. Must be comfortable around heavy machinery and PPE. Requires extended periods of sitting, light lifting (up to 20 lbs), stair climbing, and general mobility around facilities.
