Department's Website: Summary of Job Duties: The Student Employee Blood Bank will provide support to Blood Bank operations by assisting with specimen handling, inventory management, and customer service in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
Qualifications: Minimum Qualifications: - HS Diploma/GED
- Must be a current student in a Medical Laboratory Science program
Additional Information: Job Requirements: - Provide direct patient care by supplying the patient with appropriate blood components Issue blood and blood components to the floors
- Understand the importance of massive trauma and to issue blood and blood components as set forth in the Massive Transfusion Protocol
- Communicate effectively with the Blood Bank customers including physicians, nurses, and other UAMS staff members
- Receive samples and to ensure all samples are appropriately labeled and collected properly for the Blood Bank
- Perform other duties as needed.
Salary Information: $17.00/hour
