JOB TITLE: Tank Tester

DEPARTMENT: Amarillo Tanks

REPORTS TO: Assistant Production Manager

CLASSIFICATION: Hourly

Purpose and Scope

The Hydro Tester is responsible for performing hydrostatic testing on tanks, vessels, and fluid-handling equipment to ensure structural integrity and compliance with internal and external quality standards. This role is vital to ensure the safety and performance of Sage Oil Vac's products before they are shipped to customers.

Key Responsibilities

• Set up and operate hydrostatic test equipment in accordance with testing procedures and safety guidelines.
• Fill tanks and vessels with water or approved test fluids to specified pressures.
• Monitor pressure levels and inspect for leaks, pressure drops, or other failures during testing.
• Document test results accurately and maintain records for quality assurance purposes.
• Clean and prepare equipment before and after tests.
• Identify and report defects or non-conformities to the production or quality team.
• Perform minor repairs or rework as needed before re-testing.
• Ensure compliance with OSHA safety standards and company safety protocols.
• Work collaboratively with fabrication, welding, and assembly teams to maintain production flow.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area.
• Participate in training and continuous improvement initiatives
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• High school diploma
• Basic mechanical aptitude
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety
• Basic math and measurement skills
• Willingness to work in wet and noisy environments
