Are you a meticulous and dedicated individual with a passion for creating a clean and welcoming environment? Kiowa County Memorial Hospital is seeking a Housekeeper to join our team! 

About the Role:

As a Housekeeper, you'll be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and order of assigned areas within our hospital. This is a vital role in ensuring a safe and healthy environment for our patients, staff, and visitors. We have a full-time position available. Hours are 4:45am to 1:00pm Monday-Friday. Some weekends may be rotated in at times when there is a high need.

No late hours or nights needed for this role! While it does start early, you can be home every evening!

What You'll Do:

• Clean and disinfect patient rooms, common areas, and offices to prevent the spread of disease and ensure the highest standards of cleanliness are met at all times in all areas of the hospital.

• Dust and vacuum various surfaces, including windowsills, blinds, floors, furniture, and equipment.

• Scour and polish sinks, tubs, mirrors, and similar equipment.

• Replenish essential supplies like soap, towels, and other dispensable items.

• Gather and dispose of trash, ensuring wastebaskets and refuse containers are clean and relined.

• Perform floor care, including mopping, buffing, stripping, and refinishing as needed.

• Wash walls, ceilings, windows, and screens.

• Transport materials and supplies to your work area.

• Report any mechanical failures or negative conditions to your supervisor1.

   

What You'll Bring:

• Previous housekeeping and/or nurse aide experience.  Preferred

• Experience with common housecleaning implements such as mops, floor waxes, vacuums, shampooers, and buffers.  Preferred

• Knowledge of equipment care, proper measurement of cleaning solutions, and an awareness of hazards.  Preferred (must be trainable for hospital requirements)

• Ability to understand and follow instructions on various cleaning solutions. Required

• Ability to follow both oral and written instructions. Required

• The ability to perform routine, repetitive tasks on a continuous basis.  Required

• Physical stamina for long periods of standing, walking, stooping, lifting, pushing, or pulling objects weighing 10-50 pounds.  Required

• Color recognition ability to identify color-coded wastes and hazards.  Required

   

Working Conditions:

You will primarily work in an indoor, general hospital environment, with occasional outdoor work for window washing. You may encounter dust, fumes, odors, gases, chemical substances, electrical currents, and body fluids.
