In this role as our\nRadiologic Technologist Trainee, you will observe and learn how to produce\ndiagnostic images using a variety of radiographic equipment, including R/F\nsuites, general radiographic systems, portable systems, C-arm fluoroscopy and\ndigital radiography systems. You will be trained to select the appropriate\ntechnical factors for optimal results and use proper radiation protection and\nshielding as prescribed in protocols. Trainees will gain competency in\nperforming exams and procedures on neonates, infants, children, adults and\ngeriatric patients. You will be responsible for daily quality assurance,\nmaintaining quality control standards, following research protocols and\ninspecting imaging devices for any failures, reporting them to the manager\npromptly. Lastly, trainees will review requisitions with radiologists to assess\nthe appropriateness of exams and perform any other duties as assigned.

Salary Range:\n$38.05 Hourly

Qualifications

• · \nBCLS certificate from American Heart Association\nor American Red Cross– required
• · \nJCERT approved Radiologic Technologist Program\nstudent or recent grad
• · \nAbility to accept and carry out oral and written\ninstructions accurately
• · \nExcellent interpersonal skills effectively and\ndiplomatically with patients, visitors, hospital staff, physicians, and other\noutside offices both in person and over the phone
• · \nKnowledge of medical terminology, with ability\nto distinguish between- types of procedures within the assigned department(s)\nand medical diagnoses
• · \nAbility to adapt to advancement and changing\ntechnology
• · \nAbility to identify and recognize\ncontraindications for exams. (Radiology Only)
• · \nAbility to respond efficiently to expressed\nneeds of referring services, physicians and patients
• · \nSkill in employing independent decision making\nwhile performing various job functions
• · \nTelephone manners and skills to handle heavy\ntelephone lines with courtesy and tact
• · \nUnderstand the requirements of the EMTALA\n(Emergency Medical Treatment and Active Labor Act)
