Quarry Haul Truck Driver

Scotty's Contracting and Stone is accepting applications for a Quarry Haul Truck Driver. Responsibilities:

• Prioritize and uphold strict safety standards
• Demonstrate initiative and the ability to work independently
• Safely operate quarry heavy equipment transport materials from the pit to the plant or stockpiles.
• Conduct thorough pre-and post-operation inspections, reporting findings in compliance with policies
• Perform routine maintenance and minor repairs on equipment as needed
• Operate equipment with a high level of skill, accuracy, and efficiency
• Adhere to all company policies and Mine Safety and Health Administration (MSHA) regulations
• Complete additional tasks as assigned by management
• Communicate effectively with team members, supervisors, and dispatch.

Qualifications:

• Strong commitment to workplace safety and adherence to safety protocols.
• Demonstrated mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
• Flexibility to work overtime, weekends, and early shifts as required.
• Ability to work in outdoor and underground environments under various weather conditions.
• Must pass a drug screening and comply with the company's Substance-Free Workplace Policy.
• At least 1 year of experience operating haul trucks or similar heavy equipment (e.g., articulated trucks, rigid-frame trucks).
• Familiarity with quarry equipment including crushers, conveyors, screens, and scales.
• Previous experience working in a quarry environment (loaders, trucks, excavators)

Physical Requirements:

• Climbing: Must be physically capable of safely climbing in and out of equipment that is greater than 10 feet off the ground on uneven terrain multiple times daily.
• Heights: Ability to climb and work safely at heights exceeding 10 feet.
• Balance: Must maintain stability while standing and walking on potentially slick or uneven surfaces, sometimes while carrying equipment or materials.
• Vision: 20/40 corrected vision to see moving safety hazards, moving equipment, vehicles, and obstructions.
• Hearing: Corrected to hear verbal safety warnings and instructions.
• Awkward positions: Ability to transition between sitting, standing, and kneeling on the ground as required.
• Heavy lifting: Ability to lift and maneuver awkward parts and equipment weighing up to 50 lbs. unassisted, and up to 100 lbs. with assistance.
• Conditions: Primarily outdoor work in varying weather conditions. Must be adaptable to changing environmental factors and the demands of an active quarry operation.
