Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Revenue Manager to join our growing Accounting team. This role will lead and manage all aspects of the Accounts Receivable (AR) / Revenue function, including customer contracts, billing, revenue recognition, collections, and cash application. This role will also support the accounting close process, recruit, develop, and coach team members , and drive process improvements in a fast-paced, results-oriented environment.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Accounts Receivable Management
  • Manage the end-to-end accounts receivable process, including contract review, billing, collections, and cash application.
  • Lead and mentor a team of accounts receivable staff to ensure timely and accurate billing and processing of customer payments.
  • Monitor AR aging reports and work with the team to follow up on past due accounts, resolving any disputes or issues promptly.
  • Develop and implement procedures to streamline accounts receivable processes and improve cash flow.
  • Develop and monitor KPIs for the AR function.
2. Revenue Recognition
  • Ensure compliance with accounting standards and company policies for the recognition of revenue.
  • Oversee the accurate and timely recognition of revenue.
  • Review revenue transactions and provide guidance on appropriate revenue treatment.
3. Financial Reporting & Analysis
  • Support month-end close and ensure adherence to deadlines.
  • Prepare and analyze financial reports related to accounts receivable and revenue.
  • Work with the team to reconcile revenue and accounts receivable balances, ensuring accuracy of financial reporting.
  • Provide insights and recommendations to management regarding revenue trends, accounts receivable performance, and cash flow.
  • Ensure that proper controls and processes are in place to maintain the integrity of the revenue and accounts receivable function.
4. Team Leadership & Development
  • Supervise, train, and develop a team of accounts receivable staff to ensure high performance and adherence to best practices.
  • Foster a collaborative team environment and ensure clear communication across departments.
5. Cross-Functional Collaboration
  • Partner with sales reps and general managers to resolve customer billing issues and disputes in a timely manner.
  • Collaborate with the business to identify and implement process improvements in the AR function.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting. CPA preferred.
  • 5+ years of accounting experience, with at least 2 years in a managerial role.
  • Experience in public accounting and/or private equity (PE) environments preferred.
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles (GAAP) related to revenue recognition.
  • Detail-oriented, highly organized, and able to manage multiple tasks and deadlines effectively in a fast-paced environment .
  • Strong management, coaching, and mentoring skills.
  • Excellent communication skills and interpersonal skills, capable of working collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
  • Strong in Excel and data-driven decision-making.
  • Process improvement mindset with experience implementing changes to enhance efficiency.
  • Experience with QuickBooks and NetSuite is strongly preferred. Experience with Salesforce is a plus.
