Job Description

Job Summary:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Sales Estimating Professional to join our team specializing in commercial construction and roofing projects in addition to solar needs of clients. This role is responsible for providing accurate and competitive estimates for new construction and roofing projects, working closely with clients, project managers, and contractors to ensure project bids are aligned with company standards and client expectations. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of construction costs, materials, and pricing, along with excellent communication and negotiation skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Review and analyze project plans, specifications, and site conditions to develop accurate project estimates for commercial construction and roofing projects.
  • Prepare detailed cost estimates, including labor, materials, equipment, and overhead, ensuring all necessary components are accounted for.
  • Collaborate with sales teams and clients to assess project needs, specifications, and timelines, providing recommendations where necessary.
  • Communicate effectively with subcontractors, suppliers, and vendors to obtain quotes, negotiate pricing, and ensure competitive bids.
  • Analyze historical data and current market trends to adjust pricing strategies and maintain competitive advantage.
  • Work closely with project managers and estimators to ensure that estimates align with company capabilities and resources.
  • Prepare and submit proposals and bids, ensuring they are accurate, thorough, and timely.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of construction materials, methods, and industry standards to provide expert guidance to clients and internal teams.
  • Assist in contract negotiations and the selection of subcontractors and suppliers as needed.

Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of experience in estimating or sales within the commercial construction or roofing industry.
  • Strong understanding of construction processes, pricing, and material costs.
  • Proficiency with estimating software and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, etc.).
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Strong communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills to interact with clients, vendors, and internal teams.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Knowledge of local building codes, safety regulations, and industry standards is a plus.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with roofing-specific estimating tools and software.
  • Familiarity with commercial roofing systems, installation methods, and material costs.
  • Certified Estimating Professional (CEP) or other related certifications.
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Business, or a related field preferred.
