We’re a trusted regional carrier providing dependable transport services with a focus on safety, professionalism, and getting our drivers home regularly.
This part-time OTR position is perfect for drivers who want weekend work without being gone for long stretches. You’ll pick up your load on Friday , run out Saturday or Sunday , deliver Monday , bring back a backhaul, and then enjoy the rest of your week off until Friday.
Responsibilities
Safely operate a Class A automatic truck on assigned Northeast routes
Pick up loads Friday, depart over the weekend, deliver Monday, and return with a backhaul
Complete all required logs, trip sheets, and e-log documentation accurately
Conduct pre- and post-trip inspections to ensure truck and trailer safety
Maintain compliance with DOT hours of service regulations
Handle freight with care; dry van experience preferred
Communicate professionally with dispatch and customers
Uphold GDT Transport’s safety and service standards on every route
Qualifications
Valid CDL Class A license with at least 3 consecutive years of current driving experience (Required)
Clean MVR/Driving Record — no DWIs/DUIs in last 3 years, no major violations in 36 months, and no speeding 15+ mph over limit
Valid DOT Medical Card
Must pass a pre-employment drug screening and participate in random testing (Clearinghouse compliant)
Dry van experience required
TWIC Card (Optional)
Must have a clean background check and motor vehicle record (no criminal history or major traffic violations)
Must be able to operate electronic logs and understand DOT Hours of Service rules
Schedule
Pick up load: Friday
Depart: Saturday or Sunday
Deliver: Monday
Return with backhaul
